Jenny Rudd is the charismatic editor and part-owner of UNO Magazine. She has the type of energy you want to bottle up and take a swig of when life gets boring.
In this interview, Jenny talks about her career as a Sports Spread Betting Trader in London in her mid-twenties and how she was the first woman to work on the trading floor.
For 6 years she moved in the sexy world of trading and at 29 years old, she left in search of something different. She ended up in New Zealand where she became a freelance writer and three years ago part-owner and editor of UNO Magazine.
Jenny openly talks about mistakes she made and how those lessons now help guide her team and why, when she and Mat decided to buy the magazine in 2015, they had no doubt that their enthusiasm and love of the magazine was far more beneficial than their limited experience.
With Jenny at the helm, it’s understandable why UNO magazine was nominated for both Best Editor and Best Designer in the National Magazine Awards in 2017.
Jenny’s love for UNO is contagious and will have you longing to get your hands on a copy.
This is Her Story.
I’m the editor and co-publisher of the WORLD’S GREATEST MAGAZINE. UNO is the last word in everything Bay of Plenty. Our pages are a delicious reminder of why you live here. And it’s all about the sandy fringes to the every-colour-of-green land across the Bay of Plenty, and beyond. Did I mention I LOVE my magazine?
