“Make the time and the space to think things through more deeply”
In 2016, Jenny Magee came to a turning point in her life. She sold her house, got rid of most of her stuff and packed a few treasures into a small storage unit. With only a 7kg carry-on bag (how is this even possible!), she headed off on her grey gap year – a year of solo travel.
On the way she wrote a book, called ‘A Bold Life – How Women are Reinventing Life Beyond Fifty.’ Her book tells the stories of nine women who are making positive and active choices for their golden years.
In this episode, Jenny and I talk about the greatest lesson that came from her year of travel and why this book is so important for women who are 50+ to read if we want to stay feeling vital and like we matter when the landscape of our lives change.
Words of Wisdom
Put yourself first equal. Put your needs and the needs of others on a parallel level.
Travel lighter. We have heads full of stuff, hearts full of stuff and lives full of stuff – let go of what no longer serves you.
Have a plan not an itinerary and leave space open for you.
